The Society of Friends of the Fleet Air Arm Museum

The Society of Friends of the Fleet Air Arm Museum (SoFFAAM) was formed in 1979. It is a charitable trust and its object is the education of the public by promotion, support, assistance and improvement of the museum. It aims to achieve this object by a lively programme of events, including talks and excursions. Some details of these events can be seen in this website. It also publishes a quarterly magazine, Jabberwock, focusing on British naval aviation history. Jabberwock is named after one of the FAAM’s exhibits, a Sopwith Baby.

SoFFAAM has around a thousand members, worldwide. We have members in every continent except Antarctica, although most are in the South West of England – the historic centre of British naval aviation.
